The result is an effective natural ventilation aperture that simultaneously excludes rain under the wind-driven conditions characteristic of exposed building facades.

Blade angle and baffle geometry are optimized through empirical testing to balance maximum free-area ventilation throughput against rain penetration resistance across the wind-speed range typical of building envelope applications. The aluminum alloy blade and frame assembly is treated for outdoor weather resistance, and the fixed-blade construction requires no maintenance beyond cleaning.

Blade angle adjustment is available on the operable variant, allowing ventilation rate to be modulated by the building operator when required. This louver is the correct specification for building facade ventilation openings, kitchen and bathroom wall vents, plant room fresh-air intakes, and any wall penetration where both adequate ventilation and protection of the interior from water ingress must be achieved simultaneously.
